RAY YEIGH FASTEST IN DAY-ONE TRAINING RACES AT RUIDOSO DOWNS RACE TRACK

Ruidoso Downs, NM—Ray Yeigh, a two-year-old colt sired by Favorite Cartel out of the mare Tac Out, was the fastest to the finish line during day-one training races held today at Ruidoso Downs Race Track.
Owned by Kevin Reed, Manuel Rodriguez and Shaun Hubbard, the colt covered the 300-yards in 15.725 seconds in the seventh training race. Ray Yeigh is a California-bred trained by Chris O’Dell and ridden by Eduardo Nicasio. He was purchased last fall at the Ruidoso Downs Select Yearling Sale for $310,000.
A total of 115 quarter horses were entered in the nineteen races held on Tuesday. A second-day of trial races is scheduled to begin on Wednesday at 10 a.m.
The Ruidoso Downs racing season begins Memorial Day weekend on Friday, May 27 with trials for the $1 million Ruidoso Futurity.
