Thousands of racing fans are expected to witness this year’s $3 Million All American Futurity live at Ruidoso Downs Race Track on Monday, Sept. 6th when Jess Savin Candy attempts to win the quarter horse racing triple crown.

The race is scheduled as the eleventh on the twelve-race card on Monday and scheduled to go off at about 5:30 p.m. Mountain Time. The race will also be televised live nationally on the Cowboy Channel and TVG.

“This race deserves to be in the national sports spotlight, ” Tom Dawson said this week. He will be hosting the Cowboy Channel’s annual coverage of the race starting at 4:30 p.m. local time.

“There is nothing in horse racing like the All American Futurity—it has so many stories and history behind it. The Cowboy Channel is all about giving our audience the excitement of watching live horse-related sporting events, and I don’t think there’s anything out there as exciting as the twenty-one seconds that make up the All American.  Jess Savin Candy’s Triple Crown bid is an added bonus”

Along with the national coverage of the race on The Cowboy Channel and TVG channels, there will be regional coverage of the race on television station websites in Albuquerque (krqe.com), Lubbock (kcbd.com) and El Paso, Texas (ktsm.com) all three stations will be streaming the Cowboy Channel’s race coverage.

Dawson is a veteran television broadcaster who has covered the All American Futurity dating back to the 1974. He has been a commentator and producer of both quarter horse and thoroughbred racing ever since, including nearly 25 years for ESPN.

“More people than ever have the opportunity to watch the All American,” Dawson said. “This should give the sport of quarter horse racing a dynamic lift.”
