DF FABULOUS JACKIE IS THE BEST IN THE RUIDOSO MAIDEN STAKES TRIALS
Df Fabulous Jackie, a 3-year-old filly, broke on top and never looked back to win the second race and was clocked with the fastest time of the day of 17.573 seconds for 350-yards during trials for the $96,968 Ruidoso Maiden Stakes Sunday at Ruidoso Downs Race Track. The track was fast and there was a 12 MPH headwind on a mostly sunny day.
The Maiden Stakes is designed for Quarter Horses that were maidens up to and through March 1 of this year. Trained by Jimmy Collier, the black filly by One Fabulous Eagle out of Eyema Candy Tree by Oak Tree, won for a second time in four lifetime starts for owners Richard Ford and Fred Sorenson. Her previous win came at Remington Park on March 26.
“She got moving pretty quickly, and I never saw another horse until after the finish line,” said jockey Noe Garcia Jr. “It was an all-around solid performance, and she continues to improve every trip.”
The filly paid $6.00, $3.60 and $2.80 as the 2-1 betting favorite. She was bred in Oklahoma by Darling Farms.
The full field of qualifiers for the $96,968 Ruidoso Maiden Stakes which will be run on June 19 are as follows: DF Fabulous Jackie (:17.573), Painted Snowclouds (:17.620), Beer Brat (:17.643), Indeed A Favorite (:17.646), High Plains Secret (:17.649), Kiss Ya Bye (:17.655), Jess Packn Heat (:17.681), Wicked Sweet Z (:17.691), Smoking Wagon (:17.708), and Mister Blue Sky (:17.730).

Racing continues at Ruidoso Downs next weekend with the running of the first leg of the Quarter Horse Triple Crown, the $1 Million Ruidoso Futurity on Sunday. Saturday's card features the Ruidoso Derby for 3-year-olds.
