Out of the Way Wins $45,000 John Andreini Memorial Stakes at Ruidoso Downs Race Track

Four-year-old Out Of The Way and jockey Adrian Ramos broke sharply and led throughout the $45,000 John Andreini Memorial Stakes today at Ruidoso Downs Race Track winning by a neck in a time of 17.630 seconds for 350-yards.

It was the first trip to the winner’s circle for the horse in over a year for owners Pierre and Leslie Amestoy and Roger Beasley. Trainer Wes Giles took over the conditioning of Out Of The Way in the fall of last year following a third-place finish in the All American Invitational.

Out Of The Way is sired by First Moonflash out of the mare Coronas Fast Honey by Corona Cartel. He paid $11.60, $5.60 and $2.80.

Racing continues on Friday at Ruidoso Downs with the trials for the $350,486 Mountain Top Futurity for two-year-old New Mexico-bred quarter horses. First post time is 1 p.m.
