Ruidoso Select Yearling Sales Up Nearly Ten Percent in 2022

     Ruidoso Downs, NM—Sales of about 400 quarter horses during the 2022 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale were up 9.81% over last year, according to preliminary figures released following this weekend’s annual sale.

     Just over $29 million in quarter horse sales were recorded during the three-day auction of yearlings with an average price over the three-day sale of $72,974.

     The auction price that topped the sale was hip #276, purchased by the West Texas Racing Partnership for $460,000. The colt’s name is Goodtyme, sired by Apollitical Jess out of the mare Havanah Goodtime by Ivory James, born on March 3, 2021 on the ranch of Bobby Cox.
